Writing from Life: Ways and Means
Wed 30 September, 2 - 4pm, six weeks, £120 Full / £96 Concession
Description of Class
The course finishes on 4 November and is suitable for all levels. Memoir, autobiography, family history, biography, autofiction, long-form journalism… There are so many ways and means that the art of writing from life can be practised. This six-week course will aim to develop the subjective voice of the writer, explore the interplay of memory and imagination, and discover how we can employ the usual tools of creative writing in the telling of our true-life stories. Friendly and supportive classes will feature writing exercises and prompts, reflections on inspiring examples of creative non-fiction, and the opportunity to share work-in-progress if that’s wanted (with no pressure to share if you don’t want to!). Come with a project already started, or come with a blank page. All welcome, with any level of experience as a writer.
