Who can book a course - adults or children?

Our courses and workshops are only for adults - unfortunately we are not able to accept bookings for people under 18 years old

What happens if I miss a class?

Missing a class is a shame for you but should not affect your course too much. Ideally, we would like to know if you are going to miss a class so we can inform your tutor. He or she will attempt to pass on any notes/homework where applicable.

What do I need to wear?

For yoga classes wear loose, comfortable clothing. For arts classes, including painting, pottery, stained glass and drawing, wear scruffy old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

What do I need to bring to my class?

Each course description will include a materials list if applicable or suggestions of what to bring in the main course text.

What should I do about lunch on a weekend workshop?

Hot drinks and biscuits will be available for tea breaks but you will need to provide your own lunch. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby if you need to buy food on the day.

Can I park near the venue?

It is recommended that you travel to Brighton by train or bus, as parking in the vicinity of Evolution is increasingly difficult. If you need to drive, it is best to park either in the Regency Square car park, just off the sea front, or park in Hove and get one of the many buses traveling along the Western Road towards Churchill Square. If you are pregnant and concerned about working with lead in the Stained Glass course, please consult you doctor before enrolling.

Can I contact my tutor?

On rare occasions tutors may decide to give out their personal information to students, but as a rule all correspondence needs to come via the evolution office. If you have a question for your tutor or you need to inform them that you will be absent, please email info@evolutionarts.org.uk and the team will be happy to pass on your message.

Is it possible to hire studio space?

Our main studio (£20 per hr) and art room (£15 per hr) have availability for hire Monday to Friday during the day and Saturday afternoons. Booking fees are payable in advance and cancellations less than four weeks in advance will be subject to a charge. Currently you can make donations when you book courses by adding an extra donation amount to your total course fee. Alternatively you can make donations over the phone by calling 01273 204204. Soon you will be able to donate easily using this website. If you are a UK tax payer please let us know so that we can reclaim gift aid.
