Samhain Soundbath (afternoon)
Saturday 8 November, 3.00pm - 5.00pm, £22 full / £18 conc
Description of Class
Half way between the autumn equinox and winter solstice, Samhain is a time when nature is withdrawing from the physical world and the energy of death is present. This soundbath may be about a spiritual death - a part of you, or an old way of being. It could be about friends, relatives and ancestors no longer with us. And it could be about entering the deep healing sleep of winter. Come and welcome death and all its beautiful gifts in this Samhain soundbath at the time of the dark moon. We will begin with some simple bodywork (think very easy yoga- suitable for all), breathing, and a meditation of around 20-30 minutes to help us to arrive and relax. After a short silent leg stretch lie back and experience the sounds of the Himalayan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gong and mantra. The ceremony will end with a period of silence to experience the effects of the practice. Your tutor Danakumara has trained in various modalities including contemporary shamanism and sound therapy. He is a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, committed to the ongoing development of wisdom and compassion, and loves sharing this journey with others.
