Description of Class

This course runs for 5 weeks. The last class will be 13 February. Start your day with intention, connection, and creativity through therapeutic voicework and intuitive singing. This gentle morning class invites you to awaken your body, mind, and voice, so you can step into the day with clarity and ease. We’ll begin with a gentle warm-up, easing into the day, energising our bodies and voices while grounding ourselves in the present moment. Next, a guided vocal meditation that will help centre the mind, release any early niggles, anxieties, or mental clutter that may be starting to arise, and create space for clarity and focus. Finally, we’ll rise together into intuitive singing—a beautiful, fun practice that feels safe, easy, and supportive, which we can build on week to week. Experience a joyful, relaxed connection to yourself, the day, and with others, where there’s no pressure, just play and the resonance of our voices. Your tutor Bex Fidler has an MA in the applied arts, a diploma with distinction in holistic voice therapy, is trained in collaborative vocal improvisation techniques and is initiated and trained in shamanic practices from the Q’ero tradition. You can read Bex's full bio on our tutor page. Testimonials: The group singing with Bex was such an original experience; gentle, friendly, funny and light along with being focussed, professional and powerful. The energy of the women, the way our voices weaved together, and how we surprised ourselves with our own voices, the spontaneity, the developing confidence in new techniques, and trusting ourselves - it was beautiful and powerful, and at times, totally hysterical. I adored it and would love to be part of it again. Bex is skilled and confident and makes the sessions fun and safe. I found this a really positive, uplifting and rewarding experience .. It feels so good to be allowed to just sing and share for no reason other than to feel the joy that is created in that moment. I enjoyed connecting with others through sound, exploring my abilities, playing with my voice, pushing my fears and inhibitions away. Growing my confidence. I found the whole experience very helpful and calming, I was very surprised how much of a positive effect it had on me. Bex was lovely in her approach and put me completely at ease.
