Telling Your Story

Tutor: Michael Craven
Location:  Evolution Arts, 2 Sillwood Terrace, Brighton BN1 2LR
Next date: Thursday 20 February 2020

Life stories have been a rich source of inspiration for artists, designers and makers. In this course we explore, using simple making and construction techniques, how our personal and family history can help us tell powerful, intimate or surprising visual stories. The course is designed for those with no prior experience or for makers and artists wanting to expand their creative practice.

About the tutor

Michael Craven

Following a degree in Fine Art specialising in photography and film and an MA in Film and Television Michael worked as a designer and then a University Principal Lecturer in Design for many years.

He began creating card constructions, collage and artists books in the 90’s and his work has featured on book covers, as greetings cards and as paper construction creations for adults including paper dolls and miniature theatres. Following a move back to Brighton Michael recently started working with Evolution Arts to run his popular workshops in the city.
