  • 2 hours
  • From 40 British pounds
  • Hearts & Flowers, Stanmer Park

Description of Class

There is a concession available for this course for people: Under 25's, over 65's or in full time unemployment. Join Evolution tutor and office manager Kate at Hearts & Flowers in Stanmer Park, to try out this mindful craft and learn the basics of needle felting whilst immersed in nature. In this unique workshop you'll have fun playing with wool and shaping woollen creations (hearts, flowers or wherever your imagination takes you) in the colourful, beautiful surrounds of Hearts & Flowers. There will be an opportunity to pick an organically grown bunch of summer flowers to take home. You could even make a day of it and bring picnic! Needle felting is sculpting with wool and involves creating 3D objects by stabbing wool with a felting needle. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners. Kate (having previously worked in the City before becoming Office Manager at Evolution Arts) is living proof that anyone can learn this addictive craft. The workshop price includes the cost of the flowers. Hearts and Flowers is a beautiful half acre site situated in Stanmer Organics, Stanmer Park, with lots of trees and wild birds which they have begun cultivating with a wide variety of flowers suitable for cutting. For more on Hearts and Flowers visit: www.heartsandflowersbrighton.org Testimonials: ‘I so enjoyed the workshop - I felt it was a truly accessible, inspirational introduction. Practical and enabling - I hadn't expected to walk away with four or five little creations. There was a real sense of achievement and satisfaction and I'd say I was hooked...'
