Are you craving the feeling of freedom and exhilaration of shooting in the streets without immense technical restrictions? Do you want to reinvent your way of seeing familiar things and people in your own city?Are you frustrated of taking just some snappy photos from your holiday? Or perhaps, you enjoy the adventurous spirit of wondering about, immersing yourself in the crowds, observing, feeling, making your own stories and telling them with photographs? In this this workshop, Eva Kalpadaki will introduce you to the fundamental principles of Street Photography. You will explore tips and techniques from famous photographers and immerse yourself in the moment and the joyful surprises of street photography. With fun exercises, Eva will guide you step by step in how to develop a mindful and creative way of seeing and capturing life in the streets through your lens. Open to all with or without knowledge of Photography but with an enthusiasm and imagination to create and learn from it. Objectives: At the end of the workshop you will be able to: - demonstrate a critical understanding of the basic principles of street photography by identifying and discussing different aspects and elements of a street photograph - identify and discuss the work of some important street photographers - demonstrate a practical engagement with street photography by taking your own photographs - critically reflect on the making of your own images and discuss how you mindfully and creatively see and think about the world in the streets Your tutor Eva Kalpadaki was born in Greece. After she was awarded a Greek State Foundation scholarship she moved to UK to complete a PhD in Arts and Communication at UCA. She is a qualified teacher holding a PGCE teaching certificate from the University of Brighton. She is currently working as a fine art photographer and photography tutor.
