Description of Class

An ever-popular workshop, this will be a thoroughly enjoyable exploration of chair yoga that as one previous participant states: "I've never had so much fun with a chair!" This particular workshop will explore the use of chairs as a yoga prop for the purpose of yoga - integration with consciousness. The humble chair is often promoted as a prop for 'accessible yoga' but there are many yoga explorations possible with a chair that can both challenge and release us. This particular workshop will have the essence of restorative yoga at heart, so although we will practise some postures that will be subtly dynamic (you will definitely feel into your whole body!) we will spend a lot of time using the chair to support total release. The workshop will close with a 30-40 minute guided yoganidra (yogic sleep) practice (a verbally guided reclined practice that is deeply restful and paradoxically profoundly awakening!). Your tutor Khadine has been practising yoga and meditation since the mid 90s, teaching since 2004 and training yoga teachers since 2014. She is a senior registered teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and holds a masters degree (with distinction!) in Yoga and Meditation Traditions. Her classes are deep, kind and fun and her passion for the whole tradition of yoga make her classes inspiring, uplifting and transformative. Khadine teaches Vajrasati yoga which is underpinned by the qualities of inclusivity, inquiry and authenticity. Her classes are known for being intuitive, creative and innovative, using our own deep understanding of ourselves to experience yoga through the most intimate and spacious relationships simultaneously. Khadine has a particular interest in consciousness and the states of consciousness we experience, and she taps into this inquiry as a yoganidra facilitator and teacher trainer, using her extensive experience in this field to guide students into deep states of relaxation and clear awareness.
