What does this course cover?

This two-day workshop helps you to express yourself and receive others with empathy.  It supports you to address stuck dialogues, listen subtly to yourself and others, decode unspoken messages, create deeper harmony and become more alive. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers principles and practices for speaking with clarity, honesty, strength and compassion. It encourages awareness and effectiveness in communication.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a process for connecting with clarity, honesty, strength and care. It encourages effective, conscious communication. The weekend is very experiential, drawing on examples from participants’ lives – with a mix of exercises that are supportive, challenging and fun.

We strongly recommend that before the weekend you read Marshall Rosenberg’s book 'Nonviolent Communication – A Language of Life' (ISBN 1892005026). It is a quick read and available from most bookshops.

Who is the tutor?

Vajrasara (pictured) is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication™. She’s worked in communications for almost 30 years – as a writer for 10 years in the UK national press, then as Director of Communications for a Buddhist charity. For the past decade she’s been sharing communication skills, teaching Focusing and meditation. She also works as an Integrative Counsellor, and mediates for people in dispute.

Vajrasara was a brilliant teacher!  I felt completely safe and like I was in the presence of someone who really knew their stuff.  I got the sense that she's taken the time to think about all the different ways that people learn, and tried to make NVC as accessible as possible.  This workshop feels like an essential for anyone who wants to connect and communicate better.

Extensive experience of teacher.  Making us feel safe, extremely empathic and goo handout.

It's been truly helpful - I’ve been able to apply the insights, professionally and at home.

100% gold - I’ve discovered so much, and feel more alive! Tim
