Theatre Games for the Deviser / Performer

Tutor: Matt Rudkin
Location: Evolution Arts, 2 Sillwood Terrace, Brighton & Hove BN1 2LR
Next date: Saturday workshop, 28 April 2018

About the workshop

In this workshop you will be led through exercises that employ game-like structures to develop creative self-expression and to generate material through states of playfulness. They have been developed by Matt during his 17 years teaching on the Performance and Visual Art course at the University of Brighton, as group bonding techniques for newly arriving students and creative processes for devising theatre.  The workshop will be highly practical, collaborative, fast paced, fun and funny. It is suitable for participants with various levels of performing experience: from those wanting to improve their communication confidence, to teachers wanting to acquire more workshop exercises.  Matt will also outline how this work is informed by his interest in psychological studies in ‘Flow’ experience.

Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing should be worn.
