Beginners' Sewing
Tutors: Kat Neeser
Learn to sew in a fun, friendly environment. You’ll learn to use a sewing machine, and make a bag and a purse on this five-week course. Techniques that will be covered include sewing and finishing seams, inserting zips and making darts – all the things you need to know to start making simple projects at home. Sewing machines are provided – or bring your own and find out how to use it!
About the tutor
Kat is a friendly and welcoming tutor, with a love of sewing technique and a great attention to detail. She has 30 years experience of sewing, design and pattern cutting and ran her own fashion label, Wit & Wisdom, in London for nine years. She has been teaching sewing and pattern cutting in Brighton since 2008 www.sewinbrighton.co.uk.
Materials List
- 1 metre of non-stretch medium weight fabric (most fabric comes on 44" or 60" rolls and either is fine)
- Matching thread (you can use ours but we can't guarantee the right colour match!)
- A 6” normal closed-end matching or contrasting zip
