Satyananda Yoga

Tutor: Sarita
This holistic form of yoga uses asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath work) and yoga nidra (deep relaxation) or meditation to bring stillness to the mind and deeper self-knowledge. Classes are suitable for all who wish to turn their awareness inward, in a supportive and non-competitive environment. Please note that Satyananda is a relatively gentle style of yoga and classes are open to all including those with disabilities and pregnant women.
About the tutor
Sarita (pictured) has been practising yoga for 16 years and holds qualifications to teach with Satyananda Yoga/Bihar School of Yoga and also the British Wheel of Yoga. This has led to ever-increasing interest in the nature of body, mind and spirit, and how we can best bring together the scientific understanding of the modern West with the spiritual wisdom of the ancient East. She has been teaching since 2000 in many different contexts, with a particular love of adapting yoga to help meet the challenges of later life.
