Pilates – Beginners

Pilates works by targeting the deep postural muscles known as stabilisers, building strength from the inside out. It can help you to rebalance the body, bringing it into correct alignment and addressing faulty movement patterns. Improve your core strength (key in protecting your spine), flexibility and awareness.

About the tutor

The Monday evening five-week Pilates mat course is taught by Tabitha, who trained in Pilates with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). The APPI Pilates method is suitable for all ages and levels of ability using modified versions of Joseph Pilates’ original 34 matwork exercises. Tabitha is also a fully qualified physiotherapist and yoga teacher.

The Saturday morning eight-week Pilates mat course is taught by Juliet, who is a qualified Body Control Pilates teacher. Juliet originally trained as a dancer and performer. Note: a maximum of 12 people are allowed on the Saturday eight-week course
