Many of us play music but few can genuinely say they love performing it. More often we tie ourselves in knots trying to make the grade - 1 to 8 - and miss the point.
This precious workshop is the brainchild of swing maestro and scat-supercat Mike Potter aka Mike the Mic. He's the frontman of such classic bands such as The Fridge Magnets and Harry’s Tricks, a veritable institution of swingin’ Brighton.
20 years of performing have taught him a thing or two about making an occasion happen for all, and about being satisfied with what you offer. Both can be gained through simple mindful measures to ensure you're in the zone. It's here where miracles happen.
With exercises, songs, experiments, individual and group work, this is a fun and safe environment to explore your wild musical imaginings, frame them for others and pick up valuable tips from a pro.
About Mike The Mic
Mike’s secret for the success of his 20-year career as a performer is no secret – it’s the continual nourishment of his core inspiration and staying true to the music he loves. He now has a strong urge to share fruits gained from hundreds of hours in the spotlight and to help others find the truest source and motivation they need to enjoy themselves and go deeper.
