Felt Making

Tutor: Ali Rabjohns
This two-day workshop aims to build your creative confidence and felt making skills. Techniques covered for the March workshop include flat felt, needle felt, cobweb and nuno felt. Techniques covered for the September workshop will be 3d forms. No previous experience of felt making is necessary. A basic feltmaking pack will be provided: 200g fibre, bubble wrap, soap and a piece of piping. Extra fibre will be available to buy on site.
About the tutor
After graduating from the Slade School of Fine Art, Ali (pictured) worked in theatre and set design and now runs her own business. She has exhibited her work widely and has 15 years’ experience running visual arts workshops.
Materials List
1. Old towels.
2. An old plastic bottle with holes in the lid.
3. An apron.
4. Bubble wrap – ideally 2 x 2m lengths.
5. A plastic bag for taking it all home again.
Ali will provide handouts, wool and soap. If you have any of your own fibre you’re welcome to bring it along.
