Satyananda Yoga

Tutor: Sarita

Balance and focus

This therapeutic form of yoga uses a combination of asana (postures) to balance the physical body, pranayama (breathing practices) to work on the energy body and meditation to calm and focus the mind. Working with body, breath, mind, heart and spirit will encourage you to develop deeper self-knowledge and openness to change. Classes are open to all including those with disabilities and pregnant women.

Wednesday evening classes will offer some more physical challenge, while Friday morning classes are open to all including those with disabilities and pregnant women.

About the tutor

Sarita has been practising yoga for 16 years and holds qualifications to teach with Satyananda Yoga/Bihar School of Yoga and also the British Wheel of Yoga. This has led to ever-increasing interest in the nature of body, mind and spirit, and how we can best bring together the scientific understanding of the modern West with the spiritual wisdom of the ancient East. She has been teaching since 2000 in many different contexts, with a particular love of adapting yoga to help meet the challenges of later life.
