Creative Photography

This beginners course is designed to provide you with a working knowledge of photography and to develop your understanding of using your camera ‘off the automatic settings’. Creative and technical possibilities of photography are explored within a supportive and encouraging environment, enabling students to acquire the necessary skills and confidence to become competent photographers.

The course involves technical input , in-class practical assignments, referencing of contemporary photographers/artists and genres, and reviews of home projects. Students need the use of an SLR film camera or Digital SLR (compact digital cameras with manual override can be used but have limitations). The course comes with a full range of handouts which acts as notes for the sessions, and is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those who are more familiar with their cameras but want some creative input. The course does not involve use of a darkroom.

Natasha trained in fine art at Chelsea School of Art. She has worked as a professional photographer since 1997, has exhibited internationally and continues to develop her fine art photographic practice.

Denise is a freelance creative photographic artist and tutor. She specialises in fine art, festival and events, travel, and commercial photography. She has been running photography courses for over 10 years.
