  • Beat writer's blues and writer's block with this great creative writing course.
  • Perfect for writing in any form; novels, plays, poems or short stories.
  • With creative writing exercises and guidance by our expert tutor Gary Mepsted, you'll be well on the way to fulfilling your writing goals.

What does this course cover?

Writing in any form – novel, play, short story – can be a lonely business. This course offers a stimulating, supportive and fun environment in which to share your ideas and receive guidance and feedback on your work. As well as weekly creative writing exercises, a core component of the course is the Creative Project (short story, 30-minute stage play, etc), which allows students to begin and, more importantly, complete a longer piece of writing. Students will be set tasks to complete between each class and will bring their work in for discussion. If you’re looking for an antidote to that feeling of writing in a vacuum, this is the course for you! Please note: there is no writing in class.

Gary  has an MA in Creative Writing from Sussex University and has taught many writing-related courses. He appears regularly on radio, reviewing and discussing literature. His own writing includes the novel, stage play, radio and TV drama and journalism. He is also a film/theatre director and occasional actor.
