Acting Skills For Everyday Life

Tutor: Rachel Blackman
Re-connect with your natural self-expression
Join the ten-week course and Rachel will introduce you to some easily-learnt acting skills: rediscover playfulness and curiosity, find a voice, connect with others, allow yourself to be seen, learn how others see you, learn to enjoy the audience’s attention, find the courage to fail in public (and survive!), re-connect to your creative instincts and natural self-expression. In the final two weeks you will create a small performance for your classmates using material drawn from your own experience or from a chosen script. No previous experience of acting is necessary.
In the five-week course you will learn how to listen with the body (rather than just with the ears!), discover how to think and act with the whole group and learn skills that teach you to step into other characters using your body as a starting point.
